Last task :’(

Hello everyone today I’m going to talk about how much I like this subject. The most important thing in this subject was the blogs that we wrote this semester, because I think it was a very nice and easy way to learn more about English, about how to write. Every blog was about something different and that give us the chance to know more words or topics that maybe we didn’t know very well. But not every topic where interesting, for example the one when we had to select and write a news about our career (in my case Psychology) in some specific online newspaper. That was a very hard work, because it was very difficult to find news related to psychology! And the blog that I really like to write was the one that we write about our best friends.
 This subject is important because we have to read a lot of papers in English. So is very important have a minimal knowledge of this language. Beside the blogs we also have some time in the classroom. Those activities were very important, because that give us the chance to talk and listen about different topics using English.        
I think that in a near future I must take another course of English out of University and then I will be able to read a lot of paper without any help. In case that I couldn’t make it I will have to see more movies without subtitles and sing more English songs jajajaja. Because I think that is an easy way to learn more other languages.         
Outside the English class I use it to read some papers. I need a little help with a few complicated words but I can understand the general idea of the paper.        
So, this was a very nice class and I hope I pass the subject this semester.

My future job

Hi may name is Angeles and today I’m going to talk about my future job. In Psychology there are many areas that one can choose from, like organizational, judicial, educational and clinical psychology. Out all of these I prefer organizational psychology, I find that it is the most interesting of all. The idea of having to work in an organization and to help the people in these organizations is incredible. Because I used to study Commercial Engineering, I got used to the idea of working in a large company. This became one of the biggest reasons why I choose this major. This is why I would like to work in a company with a great work environment, preferably a big company like IBM or Transbank. As a second choice I would go for Educational Psychology, I also love working with kids and helping them out with their problems.

I think my greatest strength is my ability to interact with people. I’m a very fun and nice person, people enjoy talking with me and I think that this can help me get closer to my patients and close that barrier that sometimes exists between psychologist and patient. At the same time I think that my greatest weakness is my “childish” attitude sometimes. I fear that sometimes patients won’t take me seriously because of how I act.

In the end I still have a lot of time left to decide on my major, and when the time comes I think I will make the correct decision.

Environmental Practices

Hello everyone, today I’m going to talk about environmentally practices. I learned some things about recycling in my school because there we had different types of collectors one for paper, another for bottles and things like that. Also in my town there is a “Punto Limpio” where you can throw away any type of thing.

But even with all this campaigns available I have never done anything to recycle or thinking in friendly environmental practices. 

 I love to ride a bike and walk so that will be always my first option instead a car, I use it just when is necessary and also I throw the garbage in the collectors and things like that. So these little things are my contribution to the environment.

I have never joined to any eco-organization because I’m not interested in any of this kind of things. But I don’t want to say that I didn’t care about environment, I don’t thing is necessary join to any organization to be worried for the environment. I can do little things on my own.

Maybe in a few years later I will do more things like recycle and throw all the paper that I read in five years of studying Psychology.

I don’t know what the carbon footprint is, but I think that is something that we can reduce if we have the necessary information. 

I think that in some places where we see garbage in the street is for two reasons. One is because there are some collectors missing around, and the second reason is the people who walks there and didn’t have the education to keep their papers or garbage until they found a collector.

Elections

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to talk about a very important civil action, the opportunity to vote.

 I’m registered since the last presidential elections on 2010. That election has two rounds and I remember that the first time I couldn’t vote because I was just in “Paso los libertadores” returning for a long trip in Brasil. So the second round was the first time in my life that I actually have this privilege.

 I think that sometimes most of the campaigns are very annoying because candidates put a lot of big posters around the city and also give a lot of pamphlets. So they contaminate the city more than give some useful information. Maybe they should give more information using the social network instead to pollute the environment.

 I think that the necessary qualities of a person who wants to run for a public position are to be polite, closer to the people and the reality of his city, or the place that he or she wants to represent. Also this person need a lot of ideas and plans to improve the life quality of their neighbors.

 I’m absolutely not interested in any political thing. Because I thing that any political career brings a lot of work, and it’s something that you may dedicate a lot of your time, even your “free” time. And also I think that there are a lot of corrupt things that I don’t care to be involved.

In my district has been always the same mayor, so I don’t think that this time it will be the same story. I don’t see much competition like in other districts like Santiago.

Child safety: what's the best way to warn about the risks??

 Today I’m going to talk about a piece of news that I’ve found in the “Guardian”. This news talks about how parents may explain to their children how to be safely.

I think this is a serious theme today, because of the entire social network that we have available.

Experts say different things about this like, children must always tell to their parents where and with who they are. So the communication with family is very important to keep safe the children.

 The best way to talk to young children or the best way to show the danger that they could be exposed is put them in different scenarios that thing that can happened. So they could be prepared, and most important they will know what it’s the right thing to do in different cases. Because the job of a parent is show their kids the right answers in this “scenarios”.

 But also is important that children don’t lose the desire to explore the environment, because they must learn how to sensibly assess risk. So is important that children have the opportunities to explore, but always knowing the dangers that could exist in that “explore”.

Why this piece of news is related to psychology? Because this theme is also related with the development of children and this is a very interesting area of my career. The way of how the parents communicate different things to their kids is very important for his development and evolution trough the life.

Best Friends!!!

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to talk about my best friends.

I have two best friends, one is named Perla and the other Paulina. The story of how we met is funny, because first we just had one friend in common and we didn’t know each other very much. Until one day about five years ago we went to an after PSU party. So that episode was the start of the friendship. After that we shared holidays and things like that. I consider them my best friends because I know them for a long time, we pass a lot of things in this years and I think that them are the people how knows me better. 

This year it’s been difficult to see each other because one of them its studying Medicine, I have to read very much and also I have a boyfriend, so we don’t have the same time that we had a few years ago to get together. 

The best memory that I have with my friends its one night about two years ago when we were in the beach and we made a bonfire with sausages, marshmellows and mistral ice (the alcoholic drink that we always drink together) and we spend the whole night singing bonfire songs!.
